Philosophy

I approach each person with awareness of his or her role in a larger family and community.  There is no one right answer—each child’s strengths and weaknesses are related to family expectation, desires, and values.  I view it as my responsibility to take a holistic approach to a person’s needs with a clear understanding that academic decisions can never be made separate from concerns for social, emotional, and family well-being.  As a consequence, I integrate my work with that of all other professionals involved in a child’s life and especially actively engage with the schools my clients attend.
